Think of this as your map
You don't need to learn everything on day one. Just follow the four steps in order, and check them off on your Onboarding Checklist as you go.
Your onboarding toolkit
Four pieces that work together. This page explains the why and how. The others keep you on track.
Onboarding Guide
The "why" and "how" behind each step. Read it once, then come back when you need it.
Onboarding Checklist
Every task from this guide on one page, in the same order.
Open it →Resources Page
All the links you'll use, in one spot.
Open it →Costs to Get Started
What you'll pay and when, so there are no surprises.
Open it →Move your license to Real
In Wisconsin, your license has to be tied to a firm before you can work. This step connects your license to Real Broker, LLC with the state (DSPS).
Send us your info
Send us your license number and the name of your current firm, if you have one.
We connect your license
We connect your license to Real Broker, LLC in the DSPS LicensE portal.
You confirm it's done
Look yourself up at license.wi.gov to confirm. We'll let you know too.
Check license.wi.gov →Please wait for the green light
Until your license shows Real Broker, LLC, please don't take new listings, write offers, or advertise as a Real agent. It's a bit like waiting for your new plates before driving the car off the lot. It's usually quick.
Wrap things up cleanly
- Let your current broker know you're moving.
- Ask how they'll handle your active listings and pending deals. Those belong to the firm, not the agent, so they may stay behind.
- Turn off or update any ads with your old firm's name.
License renewal and CE
Wisconsin licenses renew on December 14 of even-numbered years. Most agents need 18 hours of approved continuing education before renewing. Check your CE status in LicensE so a renewal doesn't sneak up on you.
Get logged in
Real runs on a few core tools. Set these up once and you'll use them every day. Watch your inbox for the welcome emails from each one.
reZEN
Real's platform for your profile, transactions, paperwork, and payments. This is where you'll submit every deal.
Log in to reZEN →Real email
Real gives you a forward-only email address, so messages land right in the inbox you already use. Just make sure the email on your reZEN profile is correct so company updates, training invites, and my Broker Brief don't go missing.
Real Academy
Free on-demand and live training, from contract basics to marketing and lead generation.
Visit Real Academy →Workvivo
Real's community hub. Join the Wisconsin group to meet local agents, ask questions, and see announcements.
Join the WI group →Finish your reZEN profile first
Add your photo, contact info, license number, and payment details. A complete profile means your commission checks and paperwork flow without hiccups. Think of it like filling out your W-4 on day one. Not exciting, but it pays off.
Watch for the Broker Brief
Every week I send a short Broker Brief to our Wisconsin agents with rule changes, market news, and tips. It's the easiest way to stay in the loop without digging for anything.
Update your MLS & board
Your MLS, local board, and lockbox access all need to know you've moved to Real. Each is its own quick update.
Transfer your membership
Contact your local REALTOR® association and ask to transfer to Real Broker, LLC. Most boards have a simple agent change or transfer form.
Switch to Real's office
Ask your MLS to move you under Real's Wisconsin office so your listings show the right firm.
Update your key access
If you use a lockbox key (like SentriLock or Supra), update your office info so showings keep working without a hitch.
Set up your forms library
Make sure you can access the current WRA forms through your board's forms software. Using the latest versions keeps your contracts clean.

Not a member of a board or MLS yet?
No problem. Reach out to me and I'll help you figure out which board and MLS fit your market. It depends a lot on where you work in the state.
Compliance, made simple
Compliance sounds scary, but it's mostly a few good habits. These are the big ones. Get them right and you're 90% of the way there.
Show "Real Broker, LLC" everywhere
Every ad, sign, post, website, and business card must clearly show our firm name. The Real logo alone doesn't count, so spell it out.
See the WI Marketing Guidelines →Ask before you brand
Want to use a team name, logo, or new business name? Run it by me first. Wisconsin has specific rules, and it's much easier to get it right up front.
Submit every deal in reZEN
Upload your listing agreements and accepted offers to reZEN within 2 days so we can review and keep everything on track.
Real doesn't hold it
Real does not hold earnest money on Wisconsin deals. Before an offer goes out, make sure the contract clearly says who will hold it. Unsure? Call me first.
Treat everyone the same
Same service, same information, same enthusiasm for every client. When in doubt about wording in an ad or conversation, ask.
Broker Disclosure first
Give the Wisconsin Broker Disclosure to Customers before you provide brokerage services, and keep a signed copy with your file.
Two Real disclosures every client signs
Have every client sign both of these, and upload them to reZEN with the rest of your file.
This page is a friendly overview, not legal advice. For the full rules, see Wis. Stat. ch. 452 and Wis. Admin. Code ch. REEB 24, or call the WRA Legal Hotline.
